Over its 36 years in existence, the Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) has sought to showcase the organizational skills of the United States Marine Corps. This year, more than two thousand Marines lined the MCM course as well as maintained a presence in Runners Village and the Finish Festival on race day. Many of our runners cite Marines like these and other active duty military members as inspiring heroes providing motivation to finish the challenging MCM course. On race day, however, the roles were reversed. Each MCM finisher embodied the core USMC values of honor, courage and commitment. Your dedication to training prior to the MCM and valor in the face of physical and mental challenges the day of the marathon was truly commendable. On behalf of the Marines and sailors who supported you during the MCM, thank you for participating in the MCM and congratulations on completing your mission. Job well done!
